What does Sculptra do?

Sculptra contains microparticles of Poly-L-Lactic acid (PLLA). It addresses the loss of volume by stimulating collagen production. It forms a framework that helps support and maintain the inner structure of the skin in order to restore one’s youthful appearance.

Here are the four simple steps to Sculptra treatment :

A comprehensive consultation and facial assessment by qualified doctor.

Numb cream application. (20 minutes)

Duration of Treatment: 30 minutes (depending on areas and quantity involved)

Full face massage (5 minutes)

How many treatments is needed?

The total number of treatment sessions will depend on the overall assessment of facial structures as well as the patient’s expectation.

Generally for younger age group, 2-3 sessions are recommended; whereas age 40 years and above, at least 3 sessions are recommended for a more optimal result.
The sessions are done about 4-6 weeks apart.

Post-treatment Care

For the initial 5 days post Sculptra, patient is advised to follow the “5-5-5” rules:

Do a simple self-home massage for 5 days,
Each day massage for 5 times
Each time massage for 5 minutes

This will ensure a very even placement and distribution of the products for a greater result. You can resume your daily activities post-treatment.

Is the procedure painful?

Prior to injection, the product will be mixed with a small amount of local anaesthetic agent. This is to ensure a comfortable experience for patients undergoing the treatment.

What is the downtime of the procedure?

Some patients may experience mild facial puffiness at the treated area for 3-5 days. This is due to the diluting solution used during injection. After the swelling subsides, you will look natural and wait for 1-2 months to appreciate the progressive lifting and skin quality improvement of your face.

How long does the effect last?

Visible improvement of facial structures and skin quality may be seen from 1-3 months, and may last up to 25 months depending on the areas treated and individual conditions.
